It's been a long couple of months. If you didn't know, I had my baby 5 weeks early and she has been at Cooks NICU for 37 days. She cam home yesterday & we are working on getting back in the swing of things. I have some catching up to do & plenty of pictures to post. Lots of changes have been made since the baby came. One would be Miss Kimberly! She is coming back to work with me & I'm so excited about this. I'm going to need help & she's the person to do it. So Seniors be ready, she going to help head up the Ambassador program to keep you guys on your toes. Hello all! We are back. I have posted a few blogs, but because of the busy spring we had and a EXTREMELY busy fall coming up, we took some time off to relax and get some things done around the house! As some of you know, we are expecting baby #3 mid October (Our 2nd Girl - Sawyer Reece)! So with playing musical rooms and setting all of them up, plus decorating a baby room and remodeling a bathroom, we needed some time off! Once the baby room and bath room is all complete I will post some pictures of the finished product. I have spent some time on finding the right color scheme for this room, since my 4yr old daughter and her new sister will be sharing a room. It will be stunning!

With that said, I have finally chosen my 2010 Senior Ambassadors. We have grown so much in this area of photography that I am looking to have even a better year then last. I have lots planned for these guys and I believe I have a great group to help push me further in the photography business. Here in the next couple of weeks, my senior site will be up and down and you will see some changes. So don't get freaked out when I have weird colors popping up all over. I thought it was time for an update and I needed to add some new photos! The Krystal Image site will also go through few changes and updates, but a little later this fall. Also, I will be in the process of having a new blog designed and hope to have that finished early fall. So look for some changes, but some great changes!

With all this said, I will now get to Miss Ivy! She just graduated college in May. She was one of my husband students and is extremely talented. So talented that she is leaving for California to start her career. Her agent (Who represents Rene Zellweger) told her to get some head shots done ASAP! So she gave us a call! (Now I'll throw in a little back story - Chad (my hubby) is extremely talented. He can paint, draw, create anything you can think of and of course is a marketing GENIUS! He teaches Sport and Entertainment Marketing/Management at Northwood University and runs that department. We often throw ideas back and forth to each other and come up with some new CREATIVE ideas for our business. Since I can't draw, I scribble my marketing ideas to paper and then he cleans it up to look like a masterpiece. LOVE IT! Anyway, he has been wanting to learn to shoot and has spent some of his summer doing just that. IVY was his first shoot on someone other than the kids. He has the eye, just needed to learn the equipment. These were important head shots, so he had NO pressure. (Sarcasm inserted here!) He did great. A few things to change, but overall did a great job. I did the post processing on these. We haven't got to that part of the learning yet! I take no credit in the pictures you will see. It was all him and he did great! End Back Story) Ivy is getting ready to head to California with some great Head shots to show off! Have fun and GOOD LUCK!

It's that time of year again and I'm a little behind! Now that all my relaxing and vacationing is over I guess it's back to work and I can't wait to get this year going. I have had so many ask when I was going to start my 2010 Senior Ambassador Search! Well that time is now. I have already started sending out applications. I have had so many request for outside the cleburne area that I have made a few changes to accommodate. Not only will I be accepting 6 ambassadors from Cleburne ISD, but I will be looking for 4 Ambassadors outside of Cleburne. I have already had request from all over the Johnson & Tarrant County area! I've been in and out of town a lot here lately so my blog has suffered a little. Here is another 09 senior. Meet Mr. J! He is a quite one, but watch out. He has a lot of personality when he wants to show it! This was a fun shoot. His girlfriend Miss K came with us and mom for half of the shoot. Hello All! Sorry for the long absence from blogging. It has been crazy around the Studio. It is Senior Season and sports season together and for the last 2 months I have been shooting non-stop. Which makes it hard to edit because of all the shooting. So now lots of editing and blogging with tons of sneaks coming this way.

I will start with Miss E. We shot her pictures about 3-4 weeks ago and her sneaks are a long time coming. We had a blast starting out at a golf course in Fort Worth. They gave us 2 golf carts (which was hilarious and possibly a mistake:) ) and went about the course trying to dodge all the little old men who were obviously hitting golf balls way off course to come take a peak at what was going on with the pretty girls. It was funny. Of course we talked about the windy weather with them and one even offered for us to wear his wonderful Trucker hat. He was cute! After the golf course we went to downtown Ft. Worth and finished up the rest of the session. It went great and of course other things happened a long the way, but your going to have to ask Miss. E.

Meet Mr. K! We had a fun shoot this week and actually ran out of time before the sun got to high and had to finish everything up Friday morning. That's what happens when you have fun and all of us pause to watch HEART in concert on Paladia. Shame on us, but who cares. We were watching GREATNESS! Mr. K (I decided to dub him "Mickey Blue Eyes") loves music, singing, acting and soccer. Lots of talent in this Senior so watch out, I see a bright future in this kid. I know, enough talking! Baby Chase +15 days

Here is a long awaited sneak for Jennifer. Meet baby Chase! He was so cute and tiny. This was a 4 hr shoot, which is typical for little ones under 2 weeks old because of diaper changes and feedings. We had our good moments and our unhappy moments. Also typical with these little guys. They tend to let you know it when you bother them too much. And Chase was no exception. He let us both know it. I did get some really cute pictures of him! I hope you like the sneak Jennifer. Enough talking! Lets get to the best part! The Pictures! Now say AAWWWW!

Just and FYI! I have been working from my bed today. I am communicating through email and blog. Talking makes the gag reflexes go to work. (I know, more info then you needed to know.) I got really sick last night and stayed that way most of the day today. I am feeling much better, but don't want to move out of bed just yet. Thank goodness for Chicken noodle soup! Oh! And NO it is not baby related. I either have a stomach virus or the flu. Either way it sux!

On another note. I have been emailing back and forth with my web hosting people and the contact form on the senior site is working perfectly now. I and a few others have tested it and I am getting my emails now. So if you sent something in the past from the Krystal Image Senior website contact page wanting info, please send it again if it is not to late. I never got it. I apologize. It would have been fixed a long time ago if I would have known. But all is good now. Feel free to give it a try if you dare :p

Oh! One last thing. I now have two emails because of the fix.

It's 1am and I have just found out that the contact section of my Krystal Image Senior site is not responding at all. I don't know how long it has not been working. Meet Alexis!

I told you I wold have sneaks! Meet Alexis! She is a wonderful down to earth kinda girl. We had a great time with mom and sis coming along for the ride. The shoot started out with a lite breeze and a little chilly, but not to bad. Then 30 minutes into the shoot came the 40 mph gust that stayed with us the whole time. IT WAS COLD! Alexis was a trooper. She would put on her jacket and then when I was ready to go, off came the jacket and show time. Like I said TROOPER! Despite the wind I got some really great shots and I'm ready to share. Thanks Alexis and family for a fun time.

Sorry, but I had to share. Here is our first picture of the baby. Meet Butter Bean number 3! It's 9 weeks old and growing fast. The doctor pointed out the head, arms, legs and heart. I of course see the heart, but the rest, I so couldn't tell what was what. I guess thats why the docs are the experts!

Some more sneaks are on the way. Usually January and Feb are really slow months for portraits, but I have been blessed with being busy. Can't wait to share!

I told you I would have a sneak peak today, just didn't say what time. :) Meet Onofre! We did his senior shoot last Tuesday and I'm a little late with his sneak. I've been a little busy the last few days. It was a early and very cold morning but we made it through. We went to a new location that was gated shut, so I decided we would sneak through the gate. It was just wide enough for both of us to get through. People across the street started looking through the windows, so we hurried along just in case we got in trouble. The shoot went great! When we were done, we left and went to the dead end and did a u-turn. Then I noticed that half the gate was torn down and we didn't even have to be so sneaky. Go Figure! I also found out that I went to school with the people who owned the property. So I didn't feel so bad after that. I'll definitely go back. I have many more ideas for this location. Hope you and everyone else enjoy your sneak!

A little announcement to make!

Well, Chad and I had a unexpected surprise happen to us Friday. We found out we are having baby number 3. It's taken me a bit to get over the shock, but we are excited about it. We were even asked what we were going to name the baby. How would we know, a baby wasn't in our plan. We were supposed to be done having kids, but I guess god said different for us. Thats okay. There is a reason for everything. We did start looking at baby names. Since our kids are named after amps (Marshall & Cadence) that was the first set of names we looked at. Finder, Boss, Peavey.....nothing did the trick. We saw Gibson and contemplated it, but decided no. So we went on a different track.. Marshall and Cadence we different names and you don't hear it a lot around here, so we started looking for good/uncommon names. I think we found the one we like. It is unisex, so it could go for both a boy or girl. But right now we like Sawyer Ryne or Sawyer Reece Fagan. Lets see how long that last, but I think It may stick. I have my first doctor appointment. next Thursday afternoon. Can't wait! I keep everyone p to date as we journey through this fun/exciting time.

I just want to send a shout out to one of the best Wedding Photographers I have had a pleasure of knowing and watching over the past few years. His name is Mark Ridout and he is truly AWESOME! He and his wife has traveled all over this world shooting weddings in the most beautiful places and has captured some awe inspiring photos along the way. He shot my cousins wedding last year in Austin and is now set to shoot one of my best friends wedding in Feb 2010 in Punt Cana, Dominican Republic. YEA AMBER!!! As you will see my son is awesome in front of the camera, but my daughter decided not to cooperate during this shoot. So she has mainly what I call OUT TAKES! But I did manage to get one smile from her. So to all the moms and dads out there, I feel your pain. My 3 year old also screams, cries ad throws tantrums while having pictures made. HAHA! :)

Well after a much needed month off I am back to work again. I'm fresh and ready to get going. I hope all had a wonderful holiday season. I know I did. If you left me a message within the last 4 weeks, well I am currently working on answering those phone calls. So be patient with me.

Just a little update. I will be closed for family time and a deserved break until January 12th. So phone calls and emails will be answer at that time. I know myself, if I answer one phone call or email, I will answer them all. Then I won't be taking a break. :)

Meet Dylan! Another senior I shot a few weeks ago. We had a good time with his friends coming with us to urge him on. They brought a hacky sack and they played for about 20 minutes. Does anyone remember the hacky sack? I do and it has been awhile since I have seen one. This one looked homemade and you could tell it was about to bust open it looked so old. Fun times though! Bailey's session was an absolute blast. We had so many laughs, it was unreal. This girl's crazy funny! This was also the session that I busted my camera on at the very end. I guess I shouldn't be having so much fun at a session, but I couldn't help it. I had so many great pictures that I had a hard time choosing which ones to post on the blog. WOW! It's crazy around here. I have a ton of editing to do and little time to chat. It has been a very busy last three weeks and I have the last of my shoots coming up this next week. I do have bad news. On Wednesday, I was finishing up a fantastic Senior Shoot and at the very end I slip and stumbled over a railroad tie and fell. I was okay, but my Camera destroyed!!! I wanted to cry, but didn't. My client was silent! She was so sweet and worried about me, but I was more worried about my camera. So I have to purchase a new one. Not on my plans to do, since it is christmas. And not part of the budget. Never fails, something always happens at the wrong time. Sorry, I needed to vent a little! And right now I feel that I'm entitled. I have to go right now. I have to get to work. Here are a couple of pictures to hold you over until next time. :) You might recognize them from the last post.

What a crazy week coming up! (Like the other weeks haven't been crazy) On top of a crazy week, I woke up with this wheezing breathing and barely a voice to talk with. I feel fine ,just can't talk! Not good timing since I have a 7:30am Senior shoot and a brothers shoot in the afternoon. Along with 8 other shoots in the next two weeks. So plenty of sneeks coming this way soon. Okay, this was an emergency shoot that I found out about yesterday afternoon and the shoot happened at 8am this morning. I had to have these edited and ready to go by tomorrow.

Let me explain. This is Shelby. You might recognize her as one of our Ambassadors. She is MISS FASHION! She can put together some great outfits. And Nordstroms has noticed. They have done a bio on her and she could be the next Spokesperson for Nordstroms. Shelby's fashion sense is exactly what they are looking for to keep them at the top of their game. Congrats to Shelby! A young up and coming FASHION DIVA!

Sorry it's been awhile. A lot has happened. First, a computer crashed, so 32 Soccer Teams had to be edited AGAIN. Yes, I can hear you now: "That Sucks!" I would agree. I did lose some of my email. So if you haven't heard back from me, it's because I probably lost your email with all your information on it. So email me again with your phone number and I will call, I promise!

Second, I have also had sick kids. Marshall was first and after he took a shot was feeling 10 times better that night. Cadence took some medicine to prevent her from getting what Marshall had. Well, the medicine didn't work. She's sick. And we are hoping it will be all gone by the end of the week. I have a lot on my plate so blogging will come scarce right now. It's Christmas time and I have a lot of Families & Seniors scheduled for appointments right now. My weekends are booked solid until December 13th. I have a couple of Days left for family pictures during the week, but the kids will have to be pulled from school. So if your interested, let me know.

Third, meet Chris. He is a Senior I shot about 1 1/2 weeks ago and it's long over due for a sneak peek. It was a fun shoot. They have some beautiful land and a lot of animals. While tracking along the land we saw and found some great stuff. It was like a scavenger hunt. We found some Deer Antlers, an old boot and fossils. I also saw my first OWL up close. It was huge and had a large wing span. Gorgeous! It was definitely a fun shoot and I look forward to all the ones coming up. Enjoy!

The Simple Life

Here are some pictures of a recent shoot I did in Midlothian. We had a great time and I even got to ride Rose. Well, tried to ride Rose. It has been 10+ years since I had been on a horse. So I thought, "Hey, lets see if I can still do this." Well, Derek had just taken her for a run and I don't think she was finished. I got on and she kept trying to take off. I wasn't ready for that. I just wanted a slow easy ride. Didn't happen! So my ride lasted about 2 minutes. It was funny and everyone had a good laugh at my expense. HAHA!!! Enjoy the pictures!

Here is the deal. Chad is in New York till Sunday, which leaves me running the whole show by myself. So between the sports, christmas portraits and High School Senior Photo Shoots, I'm a little busy and a little behind, that why the 1am blog posting. I'm still up working. I am ready to take Thanksgiving weekend off. I have emails and phone calls to return, so please be patient, I will get to you if I haven't done so yet. I just have to rotate between the three businesses.

Meet Jacob! He is one of our Senior Ambassadors and we had a lot of fun with his Senior pictures last Friday. Lots of inside jokes at this shoot and lets see who can one up the other!:) I always have the senior we shoot bring a friend to help them become more comfortable in front of the camera. It always works and I put the friend to work holding the reflector. The reflector always brings out the curiosity of the person holding it. Next thing you know they start shining it directly in the eyes to irritate them or make them laugh. Most of the time laugh. It's like telling a kid, "Don't push that button". They always do! It was fun and I got some great pics of Jacob. The rest of his pictures will be on the Senior Website by the end of next week. Enjoy!

Here are my 2008 Holiday Cards. Time is running out to get your Holiday cards for this season. With this being said, I am running a special. Holiday Card Mini Sessions for $75. Your $75 comes with a 30 minute mini session and 24 (5x7) Holiday Cards w/envelopes. The dates being offered are Thursday, October 30th & Sunday, November 2nd. It's that time of year again. You know what I am talking about! Don't deny it! THE HOLIDAYS! They are fast approaching and that means shopping for Aunt May, pictures, cooking & cleaning, pictures, double checking your list and really hoping you didn't forget anyone, pictures, and my favorite, Christmas Cards (Which need pictures!) HAHA!

Get your name in and reserve your slot now for Holiday pictures. Not many left open. The last day I will take pictures to guarantee you get them by Christmas is Sunday, November 23rd. That is the Sunday before Thanksgiving. So book now. I am filling up fast. And I don't want to miss anyone.

The sports T&I is winding down and all should be complete in a couple of weeks. October 11th is the last day of the T&I season, until basketball starts. I love sports, but I am ready for some portrait sessions. This afternoon I am shooting in Keene for some family/children pictures. I can't wait! Creative juices are starting to flow. Churn Brain, Churn. With all the driving I have been doing here lately, I am always on the look out for great locations with an awesome setting. I know Chad and Kimberly have to be tired of hearing me go, "OOH, I love that barn", or "Look at that field with all the trees", and of course, "That rusted old truck would look great in someone's pictures." Like I said, "The Brain is Churning" So look for some portraits to start popping up soon. Until then, enjoy another picture of Cadence. It's part of her 3 Yr. session, but I didn't process it the first time. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it or if it would even work, because she ran toward me and we got some harsh sun. But after toying with it little, I got what I wanted. ENJOY!!

Finally! I found the time for Cadence's 3 year pics. Her birthday was only in July, so I'm not TOO late or anything. More things to come soon! Very busy with the sports right now. I'm gone every stinking day, but I love it. If you want to get your Child's Christmas picture in, then call me. Saturdays are booked, but I do have a few afternoons and mornings left at the end of October and first of November. I have opened up some Sunday afternoons for the Holiday's only. If you want a Sunday call and get it booked. Sunday's will not last long! Now for picture's. She is growing up so fast.

Birthday Invitations, Graduation Announcements, Birth Announcements, Christmas Card's and whatever else you can think of , I can design a card for it. Like Forrest Gump's mama said, "Life is like a box of Chocolates. You never know what your going to get." Well, you never know what type of card your going to get from me. Like my husband who designs our custom sports posters, it really depends on what mood I am in. My mood depends on what music I listen too and the type of music I listen too depends on what the card looks like in the end. All in all you do get one great looking card :) So don't forget me for the next Birthday, Graduation or best yet Christmas Cards! (Sorry, but it is around the corner.)

First to tell you that I have spent a little time in the hospital today! I was cleaning up some dishes and my daughter wanted more chicken. So as I reached for her plate, I knocked over a glass and it fell on my foot and shattered in a thousand pieces. Well, when I looked down, I had blood gushing everywhere. Once the nauseousness went away (like stumping your toe in the middle of the night sickness), and I got it cleaned up, I had a 1 inch gap on the top of my foot. Well, me having a little medical background started looking to see how bad it was. It wasn't good when I could see the muscle. It was cool, but not good.

So I went to the hospital, because I knew I needed stitches. It was a quick visit and I was happy to know that since it was a clean gash (pat on the back) I only needed glue. What a great invention! No needles! Needles don't bother me, it's the fact that a needle might be going into a sensitive part of my foot is what bothered me. Well, then I got the question, "When was your last Tetanus Shot?" UHUHUHHH! 2002? Dang! That was past the 5 year mark. So I ended up with a shot to end my trip to the hospital. My left arm is starting to get a little soar. Foot feels great and the glue will go away in 5-10 days. It kills me that I can't run though. I was doing so good. Oh, well!

Here is something for you to do in the mean time of me getting pictures scheduled and edited. I was doing some blog stalking today, and came across someone's blog and started to BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!!! LOL! You have to visit this really funny site Yearbook Yourself. You upload a picture of yourself and then go back in time using old yearbook pictures from 1950 to 2000. You want to know what your Grandparents, Dad, Mom, Uncle Bob and Aunt Louise looked like back in the day? Just put your Mug in and find out. You will LOL. I remember some of those hairstyles I had and what was funny is that I have seen family pics with the same hairstyle as these photos. I still crack up!

I didn't have a picture of myself on my Mac, so I put in the next best thing, "My Daughter!" Everyone says she's a mini me anyway. Besides, she's 3 and won't know the difference. Enjoy the Family Tree below and I hope you get a really good laugh out of it. I did!

Baby Marlee

Here is a sneak peak of 1 week old Baby Marlee. This was my very first newborn shoot and I loved it. It did take 4 hours to get the pictures needed. Baby Marlee was not very happy with me and mom. Every time we moved her into a different position she would get mad at us. We were disturbing her beauty rest :) She was a doll and so tiny. I got to hold her and feed her. In other words, I got my baby fix for awhile. My husband was happy to hear that!

VOTING CLOSED! WOW! Well over 125 votes and I will be counting a little longer, but I am taking time out for some sleep. I have been in bed by 3am each night and I am exhausted! These Olympics are killing me and I of course edit pictures while watching!

2009 Senior Ambassadors!

At 7am this morning, 6 seniors and I set out for a photo shoot. I found the coolest piece of land for pictures. It was full of mostly old dumpsters, some old machinery, one golf cart, and one really old wooden outhouse. We also had fun fighting through spider webs, ant beds and really tall weeds and sunflowers. All in all it was fun and I got some really great shots out of it.

Okay, so here's the scoop. Thursday night I had my first meeting with my 6 Senior Ambassadors. We had a great time with lots of laughs. They are eager to get things rolling and so am I. This Saturday we are going to have a group session at a place no one will expect. I will also introduce who the 6 senior ambassadors are next Sunday. So stay tuned!

This weekend Cleburne was the site of the 2008 Mustang South Zone Tournament. I spent this weekend taking photos at the tournament. Cleburne, Aledo, Oak Hill (Austin Area), Kingswood (Houston Area) and Tamiami (Florida) all battled it out for the chance to go to the World Series in Irving. Congratulations to Tamiami for winning the tournament. Images of the tournament can be found at my sports web page (www.krystalimagesports.com)

One last thing. Pay attention Senior Ambassadors! This is for you only! Your first challenge! Between now and our Saturday photo shoot, you must email me one picture of you and an employee of a local business with a sign saying "Senior 09". And of course there are rules! The person whom you take your photo with cannot be family of any kind or part of the senior ambassador group. The employee must be at work and in uniform. Anthropologie Furniture!

Anthropologie is one of my favorite stores and as soon as I get the rest of my weight off (12lbs. down and counting), that will be the first place I go. But since I am not ready to buy clothes yet, I thought I would take a look at the furniture! HELLO, I found what I needed for the studio. I had forgotten that it was Anthropologie who designed this Sofa below and created a design craze a few seasons ago.Only problem is that they no longer make this sofa, but instead they are making it in a different color wood and fabric. So below are the two pieces of furniture that I am going to put on my to get list. Right now they are pricey, but they will go on sale soon and we will see what we can do from there. My First Maternity Session!

I had my very first maternity session last Sunday night. She was family, so it aloud me to experiment with some new lighting and get some practice plus catch up on the family life. As you guys know, I am constantly changing the splash page and blog trying to find the right look. Well we have found it. Chad had this idea in his head (like many) so this time I let go and rolled with it. He did a great job. I think this is truly what I have been looking for. It a little grunge mixed with a little shabby chic. Who knew you could make blogger look this good. The Studio is looking great. I received a lot of my display pieces last week and have been working getting those set up. I still have a few display pieces out and are awaiting those to come in. My custom desk came in last week and looks awesome. Now I just need to decide on what type of chairs to but in front of my desk. We are almost done with the decor on the inside and have plenty to do on the outside (once it gets cooler) and look forward to all the open houses we are planing in the fall. Okay, first I want to say THANK YOU to my cousin Raychelle for leading me to this site. As you know from previous post I bought a 17 inch Mac Book Pro a couple of months ago, but I haven't been able to find the right kind of bag to carry it in. It is hard to find a really great looking carrying bag for a Laptop this big, plus it has to be fashionable. When I do find something I like, it is either 1. Out of stock or 2. It cost 3 to 4 hundred dollars and that's not going to happen. So when I got on her blog to keep up with her daily life, I saw this:

BAGS!!!! They are only $69.99, which is a great price for a designer laptop bag. I just don't know which one I like. I like the floral one, but I also like the green, red and B&W ones too. Basically all of them. Kailochic has a lot of cute bags and some other type of accessories that I think you will love. I am waiting to see which one my cousin gets before I make my decision. Cadences 3rd Birthday!

My baby turned three yesterday! WOW, how kids grow and time flies. Especially my kids. Cadence is now three but she looks like she's 5 already. She 42 inches tall and can ride a ton of stuff at six flags and loves it. I am going to do her three year pictures here soon, but for now here is her birthday invitation I designed. Yesterday, I had a great time with Miss A and her friend Miss S who is great at updos and makeup, along with holding the reflector for me. We went to downtown Dallas to Deep Ellum to do her Senior shots. Lots of cool places and many wardrobe changes. We had some funny times, but I won't tell. I'll leave that up to Miss A & Miss S

It started to get really hot, so we went to uptown and ate at Taco Diner to cool off. Once we were done eating we finished our session at some railroad tracks and called it a day. Enough talking, it's time for your sneak peek.

The latest in Krystal Image Studio is that my big Canvas Prints are supposed to be in next week. I have a 36x60 and a 24x36 coming in for displays. They are going to be huge. Along with that a lot of my other samples will be in next week, too. Also, if you haven't turned in your Senior applications get them in. The deadline for those is approaching. I will keep you guys updated as things are happening. Now for what you guys really want. PICTURES!! I took these at Northwood University. I have been taking pictures for the Admission's department so they can create new marketing materials. So here are a couple of the school (which is beautiful) and of course one of my daughter Cadence who decided to sneak in one of them.

I was going through some old pictures and found a couple to share with you. The first one is of my son (left) and my two nephews Jonas (Middle) and Jax (right). It was Jonas birthday party and he was all into batman. This year it's Indiana Jones. The bottom picture is of my daughter Cadence. We were at the park in December and she was more interested in all the kids playing then behind her then she was of me trying to take her picture. She was 1 1/2 at this time and next month she will be 3. WOW how time flies.

OK, I spent a lot of time on the web page the other day and decided that you Seniors needed your own web page and blog. Over the next few weeks I will be getting the site up and ready to launch. So stay tuned for that.

The Studio is coming along. I have someone coming in to paint and build some display shelves this weekend on the inside. Once everything on the inside is ready, we will get started on the outside. All in due time, but it is definitely worth it.

Today the site will be going through some changes. First will be songs. I have had the same song up forever and I have been meaning to load more songs. I know it gets annoying hearing the same song over and over. So stay tuned. I have some selections to make. The splash page will also be changing. I experimented before and decided I didn't like it. So I am changing it again.

This weekend the studio went through some major cleaning to get ready to move in. Now it's time to go shopping and decorate. I can't wait for you to see it. I will have to get some before and after pictures when it's done. Stay tuned, more to come.

It's coming along!

OK..OK...OK! I know it has been way to long since my last blog and I'm sorry, but a lot of exciting things going on. First I want to say thank you for the calls and text I got for my birthday yesterday. People ask me what 32 feels like, well to be honest, it feels like 31 and 30 and 29 and 28..... and so on and so on. It's just another year. Now when 40 hits and Marshall Graduates from High School, I think I will cry for like a week.

We have been at our new building getting it all cleaned up and it's looking good on the inside. We still have to paint the inside and outside and landscape, but it is coming along nicely. We put our sign up today and Chad had mentioned about honking as you went by, and low and behold we had honks. I cracked up and thought it was funny.

As Chad mentioned on the sports blog, we are currently looking for 5, 2009 Seniors Ambassadors for the up coming school year. The chosen applicants must be committed to promoting Senior Portraits for Krystal Image Studio. Applicants must have the personality we are looking for and people skills are a must. Chosen students will receive a Free Senior session, a discount on portraits and many other incentives that you will love. Also, to help you get the word out on us we will custom design referral marketing pieces with your Senior pictures on them. NEW STUDIO!!! FINALLY!!

Ok...here's the scoop. As you guys know from the past blog, we were in the process of getting a building until it fell through. Well, I was driving to Northwood University Friday morning for a shoot and noticed a building in Cleburne for lease. I called my husband and told him about it, so he made a few calls. We looked at it Monday morning and signed the papers within the hour. It's a cool building. We will have an option to buy at a later date. It needs a little work, but not much. I wish I could paint some of the wood inside but I can't touch it with it being a lease. I can paint what sheet rock we have and replace the carpet with wood floors, but the wood floors will come later this fall. We are also looking at landscaping for the outside. I would show you pictures, but I want to get a finished product first. So stay tuned.

The Good with the Bad

It's been awhile since my last blog, but a lot has happened since then. The building I was hoping to be moving into soon fell through. To explain a little: We had looked at a different building awhile back and took measurements and everything (it needed a lot of work), but on the same day we found out that the building next door was for sale but wasn't listed. It was completely renovated and was perfect. So we went with the other building. We had hit the busy season of the T & I for the sports business and had to wait until we where on the downhill side of things before we went through with the purchase. So mid April we started getting paperwork ready and was in full process. Well a couple of weeks later we had found out that the first building we had looked at had just sold to another photography business. We called them and told them that we were going to be neighbors. How awkward would that be and what are the chances that two photographers would be next to each other. She was signing the papers the next day and we were not far behind. Well after some thought and a lot of tears from me, we decided to back out. We felt it was the right thing to do since she was signing papers first. So we are back to square one and are looking again. Maybe to rent for now until we decide what we want to do.

With that I had bought two really cool LCD T.V's for the building we were getting and now since we are not moving in, I had to take them back. But as I walked in to Best Buy to the customer service center, I saw the best sign ever. MAC!!! They started selling Mac's three days ago and that was going to be my next purchase. So the refund I got for my T.V.'s went to my brand new 17' Mac Book Pro with a additional 24' LCD Computer Monitor. It is so cool! So we are in the process of making a switch from PC to Mac. YEAH!!!!! I will put a picture up of it later. I know have to go to boot camp for an hour. See you soon. More to come!

Things are looking really great right now for the most part. I have many things going on. I am going to be shooting Miss Arlington (How cool is that!). I am working with Northwood University on doing a full campus spread for an admissions promotional book for recruiting college students (I will be capturing the campus and everyday student life, fun!!). Two seniors and one sweet 16 (you know, the one where my camera died and it wasn't even a year old yet) I have her make up session. A couple of families and much more to come.

As soon as we get settled into the studio (won't be long), I have so many ideas for fun and crazy promotions. Stay tuned for that one. You have to read the blog in order to see what we have installed. Great prizes to be given away.

Baseball and Soccer are coming to an end and I can't wait to get the portraits rockin. Lots of love to all.

It has been crazy in this household trying to catch up on everything, but I do see a light at the end of the tunnel. I have designed my first ever Senior Graduation Card. I love doing this kind of stuff. It's fun and that's what my job is all about. Having fun!

Well I have been up all night editing pictures. So no sleep. I am getting ready to go see my personal trainer so she can whip my A$$ into shape, with no sleep. That should be interesting. But after 3 weeks I have lost 10 lbs and alot of inches. My pants are to big. She's good people!

I am on the downward slide of processing after photographing about 1500-2000 kids for team and individual. Be patient, it's hard work. Why do you think I have been up all night.

Well as I have said before, we had a surprise. We are in the final process of getting a building for a studio. It has been a dream of mine and a long time waiting. The only thing I will say for now is that it was built in 1904 and has a lot of history. So I can't wait. I have already bought really cool stuff for the building. It is going to look AWESOME!!!!!

I know lots a babble, but when you don't get any sleep, you tend to do that. My eyes are burning right now for sleep, but I have to go do boot camp.

Sweet Sixteen

Well, everyone knows that I have been doing T & I here lately and it has been crazy busy. But two Sundays ago I got a chance to do a Photo shoot with a really great Girl, Anna. She's turning 16. It was a very humid day and we were melting. We got 30 minutes into our shoot and then nothing. My Camera decided to die. I first thought the battery died so I changed it and still nothing. It just died. Nothing worked. So, we had to stop shooting and reschedule. I was very irritated because the Camera wasn't even a year old yet. I took it to the great people at Arlington Camera, were I bought it and it was still in warranty by 13 days. I was so relieved. That's what I call cutting it close. I have the camera back now and it's good as new.

Even though we had to reschedule the shoot I a did get a few good pictures. Here is one for you to look at. I love it. She was just starting to warm up and get comfortable.

Twins

Well this last week we have been doing a lot of Team and Individual Photos and it has been tiring but fun. Thursday we did 9 cubbie teams (which are 3 & 4 year olds) We had one set of twins which were addorable, but decided they didn't want to have there picture taken. So I got these shots instead, which I think are just as cute.

I hope everyone is enjoying spring break. We are spending most of it processing last weeks Team and Individual pictures. Starting Monday we will be out for 2 1/2 weeks doing the rest of the T & I. In between T & I, I do have some portraits scheduled, so I hope to have new pictures up soon.

Tomorrow we are going to spend the rest of Spring Break with the kids. Not sure what we are going to do yet, but we are looking to plan something fun. Guess we better figure it out before tomorrow.

Well, I have to get back to work. I hope everyone haves a wonderful Easter Weekend!!

Okay, it's been a while since my last post. Sorry, but a lot has happened since then. First we had one last bout of flu and strep and we finally got rid of it after 6 weeks of all of us being sick. It ended just in time too. As some of you know, I also have a sports photography business I run along with my husband (www.krystalimagesports.com). We started T & I Saturday and are booked through mid April. So business is on the up and up.

Spring break is next week and I have a few openings for Senior Portraits. Call me and I will get you set up. We may have some big changes coming our way, so keep a look out for whats to come. I would tell you when the time is right. It's a good thing. I promise.

And last but not least, we have a new addition to out family. Meet BOSTON!!! Isn't he adorable!!!! He is a 6 week old Dotson with the prettiest blue eyes.

I will update more as the information comes in to me. It's beautiful outside! GO PLAY!

Is the WHOLE world sick?

Just to give everyone an update. I thought all was well with the sickness in our family, but I was wrong. My oldest was sick this past weekend and starting Sunday night my daughter came down with this stuff and is still not feeling well. My son went to school Monday and out of 22 students only 8 showed up to class. Everyone was sick. Not a good situation. My son was happy though because he had no homework. So if anyone out there has this stuff I am so sorry. I know exactly how you feel. Hopefully everything will be back on track later this week and I will get caught up. If I haven't emailed you, be patient. I will soon. Until next time, wash your hands frequently and don't send your kids to school if they are sick. Kids spread things fast.

I got my SHOOT SAC!

My husband is so sweet and cool. I have been wanting a SHOOT SAC for a while and I finally got one today. For you who are wondering what a SHOOT SAC is, well it's a designer bag for photographers to carry our stuff in when we have a shoot. It looks so much better then the backpack I had. You can even buy different fabrics to customize your shoot sac to match what your wearing. My husband thought of that too and got me the one called "Money". It's great and green which is a favortie color of mine. I will have to get more over time so I can switch out with what I'm wearing. Well, being sick lasted longer then I wanted it to. I haven't been that sick in a long time. I am good now and ready to go. I will get caught up on emails throught the day. I better get started on them. I will leave you with a picture. This is my daughter Cadence. We went to the botanical gardens a little while back and I love this one of her. She did a lot of exploring and was curious about everything going on around her.

Both a Sad and Good Day

Yesterday, I was working on this site when my husband came in and told me that Heath Ledger had passed away. My heart literally sunk. He was a favorite actor of mine and I loved his movies like the "Patriot" and "A Knights Tale". I am looking forward to seeing him in the new Batman Movie as The Joker. It's set to come out this summer. He will be missed by many and my prayers go out to his family and daughter.

On a good note, Chad and I have have been doing some serious working out. Some (or should I say a lot) of our cloths were getting a little tight. So we got with a trainer and after 3-4 weeks I am proud to say that I have lost 7lbs. and Chad has lost 6.5lbs. YEA!!!! I am so proud of us both. It not easy getting started AGAIN. For some reason my lungs and knees didn't want to cooperate this time around. I guess age and all the years I played sports must be taking its toll. But it's starting to get better and easier. Chad thinks that when I get back into my basketball playing shape I should try out for American Gladiator. I know, funny huh! I laughed to when he told me .
